Heartland Independent Living Center Receives Grant From The Home Depot.

OWENSVILLE, MO, July 5, 2012 – Through its Community Impact Grants Program, The Home Depot® Foundation has awarded a $5,000.00 gift card to Heartland Independent Living Center (HILC). The donation will be used to fund Ramp and Home Modification Programs. Find Aluminum Ramps Here.
“Heartland Independent Living Center Ramp and Home Modification programs make homes accessible so that persons with physical disabilities can continue to live in the dignity of their own home. This generous financial support from the Home Depot Foundation will have a very positive impact on our projects in Franklin, Gasconade and Maries counties,” according to Heartland Independent Living Center Executive Director, Pat Chambers.
The Home Depot Foundation’s Community Impact Grants Program supports the work that local nonprofit organizations, public schools and other community organizations are doing to improve the physical health of their neighborhoods.
“We are delighted to support local volunteer projects aimed at creating and maintaining stable and healthy communities,” said Kelly Caffarelli, president, The Home Depot Foundation. “Heartland Independent Living Center deserves enormous credit for the work it is doing, and we are glad to be part of their efforts.”
About Heartland Independent Living Center
Heartland Independent Living Center is a non-profit, non-residential community based 50l(c)3 organization that serves Franklin, Gasconade and Maries counties. HILC serves people with disabilities through advocacy, independent living skills, information/referral, and peer support. Our services include: Consumer Directed Services, In-Home Care, Nursing Home Transition, Adaptive Equipment Program, Independent Living Skills Training, Ramp/Home Modification and adaptive telephones as well as adaptive internet software for people with disabilities. The Ramp and Home Modification Programs are just two of the many ways in which HILC is providing to individuals so they may live independently with security and dignity. Volunteers are recruited from area organizations to help with the construction of ramps or home modifications; such as widening doors, tub cuts or grab bar installations.
